Hey - long time lurker, first time poster.
I built my CBG from scratch, using the plans from CBN and a bunch of bits 'n' pieces from the hardware store - I wanted to make it as simple and old school as possible, so the sound hole covers are from sink fixtures, bolts for the bridge, etc. The turning pegs were from a broken Mandolin I found at the thrift store, and i bought one of those flat piezo pickups from Radio Shack (which tells you how long/slow/delayed the whole process has been). All in all, it was a fun build.
Anywho - now it is complete (I even bought a stubby slide!) I find i'm kind of at a loss about, you know, playing it. I get the feeling I might be better at learning if I could connect with a local community of enthusiasts, so does anyone know of a group in the LA region?
Thanks - and thank you all for the years of quietly enjoying the builds, pictures, and tips.
James.
