Here is a picture of my first one. It took months and months- Guess I was afraid I would make some mistakes. After I got over that I got started and started having fun.

My first one is the little box and due to so many items from HP, I decided on using thier yardstick as a fret board.

It is a neck thru.

My second one, somewhat better due to learning from my mistakes has a bolt on neck design and plain oak fret board over a glued maple neck. Took two pieces, and glued them together and the grain runs from the fret board straight down now. Headstock was cut to have a slight angle.

Hammered dish is supported by 4 posts.

Mistakes that I know of ? I didnt bolt the bridge wood to the dish so it can move a round some and rattle when I play it hard. Sound is WAAAY much cooler than I had hoped for however !

Next one is going to have frets and maybe electronics :)

My advice to any new builders out there. Dont wait. Jump in. Make one.

Make your mistakes -  learn from them, and move on. All the while having fun !
