  • Here's the same effect looking at an aeroplane propeller...

     

     

    This effect might make a new market for iPhones, etc. Viewing high speed events at speed the human eye can perceive.

  • Maybe the camera's shutter speed is acting like a strobe light, capturing (sampling) only occasional images of the vibrating string at exactly the right timing so that we can see a slowed down string vibration effect. Ever use a strobe light to tune a car? I suspect its the same effect.

    Very cool video. Now we'll all have to mount iPads in the backs of our CBGs ;-)
