  • This looks very similar to an african instrument called the akonting. It was a predecessor to the banjo.
  • There is a strong likelihood that this guitar may have, how shall we say, an aroma to it? If I am not mistaken, things made from shells and other things from the sea never really lose that fishy smell. Hopefully it was not made from the shell of something that is on the endangered species list!! :-)

    At 22 inches long, I guess it would be in the uke category, no? I wonder where it came from?
