Cigar box guitars got more international this past month with The Musical Workshop at the 57th International Children's Festival in Sibenik, Croatia. The class was lead by composer and musician Jurica Jelić (http://www.juricamusic.ga). Four children (Ivan, Vita, Ana Maria and Bruno), took a part in five day workshop, where the main task was to build a playable and functional cigar box guitar from scratch. The workshop took place from 26th of June, until 1st of July 2017.
A performance by the participants was the perfect way to end the final day of the festival. (Above)
The workshop was created to develop children's interest in music, teach them basic woodworking skills, show them that artistic expression can be done by simple means, and by recycling materials.

This is what we all are talking about here! Make instruments and make music. Have fun, learn and play whatever you want. These kids will always remember that they can create something instead of buying. Well done man!
Yes! Very cool!
American kids would probably try playing in a Rock and Roll style. its funny how local influences can give someone the "music" they hear in their heads, which in turn comes out in the music they play.
uber cool . ;-D
