Hi, I'm a lonesome banjo player setting out on my first CBG construction. Problem is I live in Shropshire, England. Does anyone know of a cigar box supplier in the UK or one in the States with 'reasonable' shipping costs.

I've just been Googling and found a cigar shop in Shrewsbury . Have you tried Adlards Cigar Merchants, found at 6 Shoplatch? Looking at the shop on Goggle street view, their sign calls them a "Specialist Tobacconist", they might be able to help you out.
Hi Roger.
Just to add another possible source try http://www.tomtom.co.uk/Catalogue/Product.aspx?Product=1431. I haven't tried them so I can't say how good they are but they certainly seem inexpensive.
Good luck.

Hi Roger,
apart from travelling to the US with a large suitcase on a box hunt the only way was the 'bay i found, the boxes to make guitars need to be at least 8.5" x 6", i managed to find some 11.5" x 8" boxes but the shipping costs are around $21 each, though two or three cost less overall when posted together.
When you add up the cost and the joy of a home made guitar shipping costs for boxes aren't really a major problem, some suppliers in the UK have boxes though as said before before are small ones, though you never know you might be lucky (-:
.
thanks for the info

Great videos Roger.
There is also a uke group who I'm sure would love the shoekelele videos.http://www.cigarboxnation.com/group/cigarboxukulele and a group for Banjo players/makers http://www.cigarboxnation.com/group/banjoplayersunite.
The how to make the Banjo and Shoekelele are brilliant! - You should put a link onto the CBG 101 group so others can see how you made them. http://www.cigarboxnation.com/group/class101
Great job - I look forward to seeing the Cigar Box Guitar.
David
Thank you - I've been blown away by all the help I've been given since joining CBN.
I'll follow up the links you suggest
Why would a banjo player be lonesome? My grandpa always said...
"With a banjo, you're never alone"
Of course grandma had a far different opinion of the matter...
you haven't heard me play
Well, like I said, grandma was of another opinion! >;-)
Hello David, as a slight aside, you may want to have a look at my instrument making forays over the winter months. I still have a lot to learn but I seem to build them better than I play them!
Have a look at them on my you tube site at https://www.youtube.com/user/nobbynickernacker/feed
