Some of you may know that I've been building CBGs for the troops. Without a "official" way of communication with them(as to who or where) the CBGs are just sent to a quarter master somewhere. Anybody who has served overseas in a combat zone knows about supply Sgts. I'm reaching out to "ANYONE" who values their FREEDOM (I know I do)and would like to give back a token of appreciation, I'm offering you a chance! But I need your help big-time!! Ben 'Gitty' informed me if I can generate enough interest he'd post a group for this project! If you can give a little happiness to just 1 service member, great! 10, 20, 30....even better! If you have ever been deployed, this is way better then a box of moldy cookies.

This has been tried and failed I know! But if I don't try, I failed!! At this time I'm looking for national organizations, where you can go locally in your area and drop off your 'designated' gift! There are other things in the works that I don't want to post yet!

This also goes out to companies and organizations. If you can help, do so! Thanks, KOOL DOG

  • I copied this from "Diane from Chicago's" site and wanted to share it.

Hi all, I am the guy in the picture on this forum. My name is Matt Borczon and 5 years ago I was stationed on Camp Bastion in Afghanistan. Wichita Sam sent me a guitar, it is in the picture. Later Diane from Chicago built me a dulcijo that is still one of my treasured instruments. This started a movement that became this group. So on this veterans day I just want to say thank you to all you builders who have helped out all our servicemen. You can not imagine the incredible feeling it is to open a package out in the desert and receive the gift of music in such a unique and incredible way. The good you do for all our troops is beyond measure. I am so proud to be a small part of all of this but it is you who build for our guys who deserve all the thanks. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING.....HM1 Matthew Borczon USNR

This is why I do what I do!

  • Contact " Diane in Chicago"   here . https://cigarboxnation.com/profile/Diane

She headed up the first  CBGS for service members  on the nation ,  Though discontinued now , I'm sure she can give you some pointers , and do's and don'ts ..tips ,  etc ... .. and maybe help  point you in the right direction.

Here's a link to the old (closed)  group  , Where you may still find some helpful posts

    • Thank you Pick for taking time out of your obviously hectic day to help me. I hope all is well on your end and happy to hear Val is better (still in my prayers brother). I fired off a note to Diane seeking her help. Thank you for that! Kool Dog

  • This is a great thing you're doing... One of my employees is in the MC Reserves and is currently in Afghanistan.   I hope the cookies I send aren't moldy!

    • LOL, different place and time. Shipping and logistics has improved immensely since then, so I don't think you have anything to fear! Thank him for me!
