Soldering on !

Now that I'm making multi-at-a-time CigarBoxGuitars, I have ordered packs of Piezos and Jacks from CBGitty, of course.

They arrived promptly by mail and well packed as always - but not with a little paper slip of instructions like I get in every tuner pack.

Being new to this soldering stuff I tried both ways and they both worked plugged into an amp. Does it matter which wire goes where to prevent buzz?

I didn't want to do 15 of them wrong which I had a better than 50-50 chance of doing without knowing. Some of you'ze guys know this.

Help out a fellow revolutionist ...

  • Turn the jack sideways and look at the lugs where you would connect the wires. You can follow one of the lugs and see that it connects to the long metal piece. When you plug the jack in, the tip will touch this piece.

Therefore that's the lug where the red wire (hot lead, positive wire) goes. The other lug is the ground (black wire).

  • The answer to the picture is yes.

    • Thanks. I'm in the work shop from here.
