I am gearing up to work on my new build, it will be a broom stick neck set up with some home made pick ups.....but here is the thing. Where can I fit the pickups with a broom stick neck that goes all the way through?, and also, I am thinking of a two pickup system, and with that said, I was thinking about using to jacks in my build, so, with that said, I have seen some guitars out there that have two jacks that come from the box/guitar, but what do they go into, a single guitar chord, two different amp systems....I don't know for sure yet, but my pup is only so big, and it will only maybe cover 3 strings, but I will have four on this build...one bass string, and 3 normal strings.

  • Well you can get a One string pickup for $10.00 at Phillip Egggers I got one and a three string pickup for $20.00. Go to cigtone.com and take a look. My one one string pickup stands 3/4" from top to bottom.
  • Depending on how high your strings are set above the top of the box, and how tall your pups are, you may be able to fit them in without having to cut the broom stick. Otherwise, maybe you'll have to reinforce the broom stick under where you cut the channels for the pups. You could always make a 1-string pup to cover the bass string. On my first build I did two pickups (one electro-mag, one piezo) to two different output jacks. I ran these to a little mixer I have and was able to blend the two pups how I wanted them and then run that to an amp.
