I tried searching for this but had no luck.
I'm new to building CBG's. In this video below it shows a bridge placement of the piezeo.
Can someone give me some input as to whether the bridge placement or body placement of the piezeo is better?

For what it's worth (not much) as an experiment in my first guitar I put both a disc pickup and an under-saddle one. The disc sounds hollow but loud. The under-saddle one which is in the form of a bar, designed for a ukulele, originally sounded much quieter but with a fuller warmer sound. When I changed the neck and bridge height for other reasons it got almost as loud as the disc but kept the nice tone. I use that one almost all the time.
It's quite possible that as Don says, if I spent time playing with the location of the disc I might get a better sound. Maybe not. Either way with no previous experience it would be pure trial and error. I'm good at the error bit.
I've also tried both and prefer the bridge mount. Both can sound good but in my guitars in the bridge has less feedback squeel thru the amp. But Matt was the first to answer so... : ) By the way I like Dodge better.
Personal perference, under the saddle piezo placement. Quite simply because it's less hassle than finding the sweet spot for a surface mount piezo that sounds good and doesn't feed back. Today all major guitar builders of acoustic electric guitars have gone with under the saddle piezos. There are some after market stick ons but not near as popular and for that reason, less feedback. Another factor, cigar box tops don't have a great surface area, hence they are more rigid which moves the vibrations higher in range, meaning more treble less bass. Simple acoustic science at work.
Now that's just going to be like asking which is better, Ford or Chevy.

Try this. Get a song on the radio, turn it up kinda loud, leave the room and close the door.
What do you hear better? the bassy-ness or the trebly-ness?
The bass. The wall ( or lid for the box) will attenuate some of the hi frequency sounds. And I think this is good because MOST cbg are a bit too trebly.
