I have wanted a Hurdy-Gurdy for some time may be burnt days watching Jimmy Page with glowing red eyes I don't know.. Just started looking on line this is about the right design. Has anyone built or know anyone who has. Any imput plans or ideas would be great. Looks like a cool design.

If you're still thinking Hurdy Gurdy check out Dennis Havlena's excellent web site. He made one from an old fiddle. His ideas have inspired several of my builds.
This is a excellent site and if you are into building instruments a must see. Thanks Jim.

my hurdy style guitar is still gathering dust - really need to finish it one day.
most critical aspect is getting the right string angle on the wheel. too much or too little pressure on the wheel makes the sound awful. i got round this by making an adjustable bridge.
this pic may be of some help.

Thanks pick just what I wanted to see. Except the last one. Most regular Hurdy's have 4 or 6 strings I think.
Didn't even think of looking on this site Thanks.
