I would like to do my first angled headstock. I seem to remember seeing some diagrams on this subject some time ago but cannot find them. Not sure about pressed woods as a head versus an angle cut out of the neck wood. Thanks.

This is how I do it just glue a board under neath your neck and clamp it for a while then cut that top off the headstock at an angle I use a miter saw to do this then add some ears on the sides then I cut off the bottom of the headstock with my band saw. I don't think this is technically a scarf joint but it works great and is really tough. Wes Yates sent me this image in my comments a while back thank him for the diagram hope this helps!
you can also use a thick peice of wood and just cut out the angle IE gibson but every one knows how bad gibson necks are about breaking the scarf joint is much stronger and uses less wood.
i highly remcomend looking in to Melvin hiscocks book make your own electric guitar.

Simply the best, simple tutorial out there. He's got others to watch, too.
