Should Automotive primer and rattle can paint do, or is there someone that sells guitar paint in rattle can form? I'm not planning on doing too many painting projects, so I don't plan on buying a compressor and paint spraying tools.

I suggest painting a test board first to test the compatibility of the spray paint with the colored design. If you want it glossy, you would put a clear coat over everything and buff it out.
I've had the best results ever for high gloss using Micromesh.
