The festival kicked off the afternoon of May 29th in Huntsville, AL. By 1:00 pm, the crowds were already gathering and checking out the C.B. Gitty display. C.B. was on hand and passing out some trinkets he was turning out with his new laser saw. A very nice tiny CBG (2" long) had been created with the new tool and were nice giveaways.
Music started at 6:00 pm with the Mulligan brothers followed by the June Bugs. both great sounding.
Today (Saturday) there is a slide and 1-string guitar workshop in the afternoon with music beginning at 3:00 pm. This year there are three stages (four if you count the open mic in the CBG booth. One-Hand Dan kicks off things on the big stage at 3:00 pm and music continues on one stage or another until 9:00 pm.
This is a very well organized event and attendance is very strong. There are plenty of food vendors and there is a BYOB option.
This was well worth the 11 hour drive up from Hilton Head, SC.
