Huntsville Alabama is home to the World’s Longest Running Cigar Box Guitar Festival and will be celebrating its 20th year May 30-June 2, raising money for music education. The day portion of Day 3 of the Festival takes place on Saturday June 1 indoors in the Connector at Lowe Mill A&E from 11:00-3:00 with music, dancing, kids activities and specials from Lowe Mill businesses. Musical guests include children’s entertainer Miss Calliope, “King of The Cigar Box Guitar” Shane Speal, and the Cigar Box Serenaders of New Orleans. Free entry and free parking. There will be three more days of events at four other locations, including a kick-off on Thursday night with all original music performed by local artists; rock and blues on Friday night; an evening concert with Grammy-winner Gary Nichols on Saturday night; and jazz brunch on Sunday.
