This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

The grain on that body is visually stunning, that’s gonna sound great!!

What was that Paul, say it again.

I forgot to mention that I'm also using a Shaller Megaswitch. I plan to wire it, as the middle pickup is reverse wound, to get hum bucking neck and bridge as well as neck and bridge together.

I was having a hard time trying to reply to you and Brian, so I wrote a long response to both of you guys in HTML Editor and it still messed up.
That Strat style guitar looks great. A lot of people are going for the neck and bridge combo on Strat guitars these days(Mostly Tele guys playing Strats LOL).

Now I remember talking about Lipstick Tube pickups. Fernandez USA used to make some great vintage spec pickups for Strats and I wanted a set or 2 of them, but they are now closed.

Then I checked Stewmac for their Golden Age Lipstick pickups and they want $60 a piece for them. No way! Then I checked GFS and they are decently priced, but not vintage spec. Does anyone now what the specs are for Gitty's Foundry Tone Lipstick Tube Pickups?

I see the size measurements and the DCR on the Gitty site shows a vintage wind.

No mention of a RWRP version or what magnets are used. Originals had Alnico 5 magnets, but I'm guessing these may have ceramic magnets. Just don't know.

I had this Tele on the bench this morning before I headed off to the farm. I changed the stock saddles for Wilkinson compensated saddles & a quick little tweak of the action & intonation? The G & B strings intonated without a fight & actually there’s some added sustain as well? I’ve got quite a few more commercial guitars like this to work on this week, mostly electronics retrofits & some truss rod tweakage, I’m glad it’s the weekend   :)

Those saddles are a great thing to have on a Tele. Haven't heard anyone complain about them yet and some will put a steel saddle on the 2 lower string to brighten the bass tones.

Taff, are you also using Schaller pickups on this? I was a big fan of their “Select” HSS pickup combo!!

Just got some pickup magnets and ferrules in and am waiting for some 32 AWG and 35 AWG enamel wire. Already have some 42 AWG. Took a coping saw to a small chunk of some mahogany and made the flatware. Will probably make the core of the bobbin tomorrow and glue and drill it. As soon as the wire comes in, I'll try to wind her up with my manual hand drill like I did in my one blog. Hope to make a few different pickups to experiment with...

What pickups are we going to play with?

I have a old sewing machine to convert to pickup winder some day.

Just what I've been doing. The only difference being that I'll be using real ferrules instead of strips of copper pinched and glued at one end of the pickup, and I won't have to kill any wall-warts. I ordered a little 32 and 35 gauge. I already have a little 42 gauge that I made a 3000 wind scatterwound out of. 1050 Ohms... OOOooo... We like the sound less than the 32-35 gauge at about 300-500 winds.

I have an old portable Singer that I've been thinking about too...
