1. Here’s what I think after watching videos I could find. Red goes to the outside terminal on output jack, black goes to the inside terminal, and then I solder a wire from the inside terminal and run it under the metal bridge to ground it is that right?

Yep, that's what it looks like. The inside of the your output jack is ground. You can run a second wired from the ground to your metal bridge.

Thanks again blue rat. I’ll try it and see if it works  How do you know so much about wiring?
