Mods to CBG kit
Gonna start the CBG kit (full kit with fretted neck), and want to upgrade from piezo. Seen the vid and no problem. Don't like piezo, too noisy.
I do have questions about adding wood as Shane shows.
Do added braces internally affect sound/tone? I't like to anchor the neck inside the box as well as needing to add those wings for the pup mounting.
And since it will be a magnetic pup, don't the strings need grounding? How does that happen on this kind of CBG?

So I'd like to brace internal like the pic, and the neck cut is what I think I DON'T have to do because the lid closes flush.

Just make sure that neck doesn't interfere with the pickup. Will it also be played acoustic?

Probably, it's an Xmas present for my 11y.o. grand daughter. There will also be a little Danelectro Honeytone practice amp.
