Paul, I thinkith you're perhaps over thinking this. People like cigar boxes, I have several non-smoking relatives keeping a keen eye out for special boxes.

Time to turn lemons into lemon aide. The story behind this new hole and what this new hole is going to be. Turns out the crate plywood I've used for the top of this guitar is a bit two thick. So I decided to use a forstner bit to make it a bit thinner. Well all I can say is it worked on the first try. Good news! It's a quality bit. Didn't chip the hole out. So guess where my new second sound hole is. Going to cut off a piece of that punchi and screw it in from the inside. Then drill another volume knob hole closer to the neck side of the guitar. I'll have to get some long shaft 250K pots to finish this one. Be a one of a kind guitar with a one of a kind sound hole. Who else would put a sound hole between a volume and tone knob? :)
