This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

I'll think about it awhile and see what idea comes to mind.

I deleted my side tracking post , Apologies for any confusion  on the unrelated issue .

Working with rounded sides and edges can be a challenge with adding a neck that attaches to the side. You either have to cut a rounded edge into the neck piece to fit the side profile and do the same for an inner box block or cut into the box to push the neck in and attach to a block inside. The later is the easiest way to go and probably the most stable in my opinion, but also adds some extra work for filling in of gaps to make the joint look good.

The curved sides do also mess with your scale length placement of a bridge if you let it.

Thanks for the info paul

Hey Paul. On my phone, the hard way to message.

I have idea. Why not continue your blog with a new one, like:

”What’s on your Workbench II”. ?

90 plus pages is cool, but hard to browse. Leave that one and start another, might be fun. Color me crazy, obtuse, whatever. Just thinking out loud.

Hmm, went to page 97? My age.

Well if I start another one, most people will disregard the first thread. That would be a shame because of all the good content on this thread.

BTW My first post in this thread was about making a radiator overflow tank for my Ford Ranger. It's still working. The truck had 280,000 miles on it and needed a lot of suspension work and possibly a replacement motor so I sold it and bought a newer Ranger with half the mileage. The buyer was impressed with the overflow tank.

Hmmm. I saw that. And I suppose starting a new thread would perhaps put the first in the freezer.  At  my mom’s, gotta go, looking for parts to take home.

Looking for parts at your mom's, yep you are sick. LOL

Hi, I had to chuckle at Daniels comment, I can't count how often my wife comes into my workshop and says "were did you get that?" as she points out some kitchen tool or old household appliance.

Taff

My wife usually chuckles at my activities.

Mine too. I'm sure your home looks nicer than ours. Just saying.....I walk though a maze  of stuff to get to my computer....we need to be on a TV reality show........below is the bass diiddly i put together from one flea market. the jack is in one eye, antique door knob for tuning, etc. Play it with drumsticks...........
