Guitar Tone Capacitor Shootout
Dan Sleep and I had a discussion about tone capacitors in guitars recently. There are lots of methods, mods, and tastes for which tone capacitor value sounds best to the individual.
This isn't a comparison of those differences. But the video attached explores differences between capacitors of equal value, but from different makers.
The video also notes which ones give more sustain and a few offer an added bonus.

True, for we do see those varieties often in guitar circuits.
Interesting about those vintage caps he used...variances between marked cap rating and true ratings were common back when those were produced. Modern caps are more often very close or spot-on with their marked rating.Experiment time.

Decided to make one today from 100% recycled parts. The motley group of capacitors are new and used.
Top to bottom: Vintage red Astron 0.1uF/400v
Generic green .047uF/200v (very common)
Vintage Sprague Orange Dip .047uF/600v
New Orange Drop .022uF/600v
Metalized polyester yellow .022uF/630v
