Whilst hunting for 12 string parts, I decided to build something a little different. This what I ended up with.

Its basically a standard 3 string CBG using a length of 2x1 without the Box. I then screwed onto the side of it a pair of semi circle Fan tins. I go the idea from a mister Les Paul and his original creating "The Log". a length of body with a neck on it with the hollow body bolted on the side. I have offset the tins to give it a better look and to emphasise its a lefty.

I had some problems screwing them on. mainly because I neglected the fact that the screws are on the side of the tin and getting to them with the lid on was nearly impossible. I got it done though. on the inside of the lower (Blue) tin I have a pair of Piezos and a standard jack. I also decided to do an angled headstock on this build, never tried it before and its working very nicely. had to use a different piece of wood, the 2x1 I use for the neck is just too thick for my machine heads.

I put on it 26, 36, 46 gauge strings and tuned it DAD and with a slightly longer 26 inch scale length, it sounds awesome, plugged in or acoustic, even with the tins on the side, it resonates beautifully. If I can find more of the Tins, I'm gonna make them to sell.

For now, what do you guys think?
