Harmonica tab to Diddley bow/Canjo

Before my recent discovery that guitar is a lot easier to play if you get rid of five of the strings, the only instrument I ever learned to play was the harmonica. There are tons of songs at www.Harptabs.com and I got to thinking that it should be easy enough to adapt harmonica tabs to playing on a one stringer.

It wasn't quite as straightforward as I had thought it would be.  For starters, I ran out of frets before I ran out of harmonica holes.  The 9 and 10 holes aren't used all that often, but losing 8 is an inconvenience.

Second, any harmonica notes that require bending to reach, I'm not sure if there's any way to reach them on a diatonic fretboard.

But anyway, here's basic conversion for harmonica to a diatonic fretboard:

1 = 0

-1 = 1

2 = 2

-2 = 4

3 = 4

-3 = 6

4 = 7

-4 = 8

5 = 9

-5 = 10

6 = 11

-6 = 12

7 = 14

-7 = 13
