Not played on a CBG, but I thought I would post it anyway since it will be on a largely CBG album. A song about the coming changes with the end of the petroleum age.If you like it, please press the facebook like button to help me build my site!

  • Very nice! I enjoyed this a lot
  • Thanks, I really enjoyed the playing style, just tried copying something like it here in the office.

  • love it, that's great music mr graybeard, can't wait for the album!

  • ah look forward to it...yeah it's hard work getting the sound you want when recording, good luck!!

  • Very cool. Look forward to it. Enjoy.

  • @bemuzic - Albums are coming out in August, I hope!  I am having trouble getting good quality recordings of the gitfiddle, so I need to work that out until its a bit better.

  • @Keni Lee -- yeah, you're right, but I am actually making two different albums.  One is roots & blues, and the other is folk and socially conscious music.

  • Very nice, but as you are already aware, it steps pretty far from your previous CBG work. I would encourage you to consider making your CD consistent on theme. As always thanks for sharing. Enjoy.

  • great song!!...when's your album coming out? AND you cropped out the crocs ; -)

  • Thanks for the words of encouragement! Here are the lyrics, for the folks that were asking:

    The Turning

    C Em
They say there's nothing new, under the sun
    Am F
Nothing doing down here that ain't been done
But the way it is, and the way it was
Is not the way it'll be because
Things are different now, something's changed
    Divine plans have been rearranged

I know a picture speaks with potent force
But we can't paint a future course
No dogs are barking in the night
And we all know that things aren't right
But we can't hear a trumpet sound
And we can't tell where this ship is bound

Will it be a field of sorrow, a field of dreams
    Or a field of opportunity?
Is it our time of life, or the time of man
Is it time to act or time to plan?
Can you hear a voice? Can you touch the stone?
Can you say the words to bring it home?

    C G F
    O, say, can you see
    O, say, can you see

Well I'm older now, I don't know how
I can feel the change comin' down
You and me, we've seen it all
But we don't know if its a turn or fall
Will we bear witness? Will we be gone?
Will we learn some truth, or pass some on?
