That's awesome Dave! I work for a generator company down here in florida and we get these crates in from Japan. Its a naturally dark looking wood, a Mahogany-ish looking stuff?? ha Anyway, I just recently brought some home to rip down and sand to make some fretboards out of it. I'll keep my fingers crossed, hopefully it'll work out!
In my first 2 builds I used some bird's eye that I picked up at the local borg store. They just tossed it in with the regular stock. Always keep a weather eye out in places like that, you never know what is in the mix.
Thanks guys...I'm really pleased with the pickup that I used on this CBG. Its a pre amped piezo under the saddle pickup with volume and tone slider control, so you don't get that unwanted body sound like the cheap piezo from the rat shack produces. Well worth the extra $$$.
Yeah Dave, that tiger maple does set you back a few bucks...but its worth it in the end. I love that stuff!
