  • This is great to hear. There was a long-standing tradition of what the early blues musicians called "risky" (from "risque") blues. Because musicians of color weren't on the mainstream radar in the early years, they were ironically also much more free to record what they wanted. You can hear hints of this, too, when Robert Johnson sings "you can squeeze my lemon, baby, til the juice runs down my leg".
