Sounds good Harrison. Oily, I have a dime, now all I need is a rough estimate of on the height of the bridge :) I've been using 1/4" hex bolts which is way too high of action for fretting. To further complicate matters I have a pickup that I'd like to use that is about 3/4" high... I don't want to weaken my 1X2 too much... can I sink a 3/4" pickup at least 1/2" into my 1X2 without worrying about snapping under string tension? One last question, I've been using a dremmel to shave the 1x2 to fit against my lid... is there a faster tool other than buying a table saw? I've been building these on my balcony and in my kitchen... the apartment renter's life :)
Gorgeous guitar Harrison, could either of you please tell me the height of the bridge and nut? I'm building CBG #3 and I want it to play as good as yours!
nut is def. buffalo if its black, I only use bone or buffalo.
I built the busker as an experiment and homage to the amp-in-guitar instrument from the sears catalog that I asked for every christmas and never received. I'd build another one on commission if someone wanted one, but probably wouldn't build another on spec unless i needed it for a trip or something, or if I'm unemployed and need to play it for money on the street. ;)
Yeah, but having that speaker grill clearance gives just enough room for sliding, and also means I get some kewl accidental percussion when playing with a metal pick.
Ok, I admit it: I was tryin' to figure it out from the pics. The guitar is leaning up against a wingback chair, 12 feet away, I'm in the middle of dinner, and I'm just too damn lazy to get up and go look.
It's not the lowest action ever, but intonation is good to at least the 12th, action is high to clear the speaker grill not because of any imagined slide setup truth be told.

Thanks for the help!
I'll measure 'em tonight, and get back to you. Millimeters and 64ths of an inch okay ?
