  • Many thanks Sammy...Its an old short neck nylon strung neck and bridge....screwed to a block of oak inside the mop bucket with wedgings at the side to pack it out and the bridge bolts through the tin top..

when I get a chance I will load up a pic... I built it in a night, as a test model so lost of self tappers and bolts...

Kinda works though... open D tuning from memory.. need to reset bridge as intonation out.. but fine with a slide..

See my National on a budget video too... as I'm trying to perfect a vintage National sound on the cheap!!

so have tried just about every bit of tin metal that exists, from dishes, hop covers, tins, tin palnt vases etc.... Original Thin Vintage Tin Sound Good!!!  I will get there one day : >)

  • wow, where do we get instructions on how to make one of those cool sounding bucket geets. Brilliant, love that tone and fabulous singing to go with it.

  • What a great tone from that bucket. Good stuff.

  • Thanks Leadfoot,Southpaw, Be and Ed (bad finger)....I'm presently... Clicky Bad Thumb Bug!

  • Nice and I like the banjo in the back. OH I want to play the banjo.

Voltaire - Madness is to think of too many things in succession too fast, or of one thing too exclusively

...think that first bit was written about you, lol!!

  • Excellent.  I would suggest a second of similar construction, except 2 mop handles for the neck.  :)
