I know...another non CBG...but this is a product I think a lot of you would like to use on your CBG...I just had a little problem with my amp...should be able to plug in again soon! What I'm using is a jetslide. It's basically a ring with a small bar slide attached to it. As soon as I saw it I had to get it. Here is my review of it:Use: Very easy to use. It take some slight getting used to transitioning from playing with all four fingers to position your pinkie on the slide to use the slide. However, after a little while this became second nature and is no longer a factor. As a slide it works as well or better then any slides I've used in the past (I've used a few cut bottle neck of varying lengths, a shyslide and, some pipe ones). As for the use of my fingers when not using the slide, not quite as mobile as my hand would be without the slide, but not worse enough were there is much of a difference and I think with practice I'll get over this too. Chords that require you to finger high and low strings at the same time (such as a G chord) may take slight getting used to.Comfort: The slide tends to dig into the finger. When I first got it I could not play it for more then a few min at a time. However, putting something between the ring and your finger helps a lot. I ripped part of an index card and taped it to the slide. Putting a piece of paper around your finger 2-3 times may also help. Once modified it was comfortable enough to pay as much as I wanted, but still not the worlds most comfortable slide.Types: They have a few types. Brass, Glass, and Chrome. The glass is just a chrome slide with a piece of glass glued over it. I am using the glass slide in this video. That is the only one I own. The website sells kits to replace the glass should it break. They also state that should the glass break it can be used as a chrome slide.Cost: A bit costly for a slide. The non-glass ones are $20 and the glass are $25. However, I think they are worth it.Over all: I think it's a great slide. I think it allows more versatility then a traditional slide. For an advanced slide guitarist, I think it allow for more possibilities without any significant limitations. To an intermediate guitarist who is a beginner with the slide (such as myself) it is less intimidating. It allows you to ease into the slide by giving you the ability to switch back and fourth from slide to traditional playing at any time. I'd assume for someone who relies too heavily on the slide it may also be good for easy into traditional playing. Over all I think it's a great addition to any guitarists gig bag and feel it will be my main slide for years to come.http://www.jetslide.com/-CGC

  • i recently bought one too(chrome), before i saw this post. Overall i like it when playing a regular acoustic, nut with CBG, it tends to sound thin to me. I much prefer the tones of a regular glass slide. Jetslide is a great idea tho, but i think it will sound thinner than regular side because the rod is much smaller than most slide in both mass and size. I am wondering if the brass or glass would sound fuller. For me, it didnt take too long to get used to using it, but yeah putting something to cushion the ring is a great idea to add comfort if you plan to wear it through a 3 sets gig.
  • I like the song in it's folky bottle neck version-definetly a cool slide product.
