I wasn't in the mood to CBG... Here's the first sound check of a DIY harpsichord with 16 (now there are just 5, yet to be finished) Setup: MIDI signal to Arduino to Shift register to MOSFET drivercard to magnetic solenoids.Inside each coil there is a nail which acts as a jumper, bearing neodym magnets at each end. The tongues are cut from an old plastic bottle. Later I attach felt pieces as dampeners. Stay tuned..

  • That's an amazing bit of kit with a really authentic sound - like it !

  • thanks José! The electronic programming was done by a colleague in my hackers club. He was so fast in setting up that program on that Arduino microcomputer. The analoge stuff like adjusting the solenoids takes me ages!

  • guau..very good work..i like it
