Ottie, the congas are junky Tocas ($225 for the set and stand) The bongos are LP, not bad. I bought the congas years ago when my wife expressed interest in learning. I didnt play then, and she was expecting a big ol' jewelry box for Christmas. I shamefully admit that I bought these for her knowing she'd never practice.

I keep them at the church, its a big concrete warehouse...it may help the acoustic value some. They really arent bad for the $225 I paid for em. Oh, and Paid $100 for the bongos. I really want a giovanni series, but I'm not good enough, nor rich enough.

You play djembe, Ottie? All my stuff sounds the same...I'm not a Caribbean or African style player, but I like the sound
