Mahalo everybody for watching and taking the time to comment. It was a fun build, although there were set backs and head scratching at times, I enjoyed the learning and research process. This forum has been an amazing source of inspiration and information. I am already working on another diddley bow and CBG.
great vid! very interesting...sounds like you learnt a lot, and it looks and sounds really good!!!...can't work out why it's quiet with those piezos?? I presume you've tried them in all different positions?
The music in the first part of the vid was recorded with my iphone and sweetened and amplified in garageband. The second part with me playing was recorded from a headset mic directly into my camcorder. Basically the electronics are useless in the thing. The piezos work but they aren't picking up the string vibration. Not sure where the problem lies but I am thinking that the nylon strings and the cheap wood bridge are part the problem. Thanks for the comment!
