A Quick Amplified Meditation Sound Sample of AGP #460 – “Namaste”, a 4 String Box Tanpura Build I done back in early March 2022, which was inspired by a “Poorness Studio” Post. The Box Tanpura is smaller, cheaper version of the much larger Sitar like Drone Tanpura, as far as I can see the same Riff?, is repeated over and over, purely for Meditation, there are Utube Videos of them lasting for over an hour. :-)

  • "Thanks James O" for the kind comments :-)

  • nice build sounds good AGP#

  • Not so much a brittle wire BrianQ., but a similar problem that the guy who uses it had a "Screw Loose" ;-D

  • "Thanks Doug" built the thing a year ago, took me that long to finally post a Sound Sample of it ;-)

  • Wow! You are definitely exploring new musical horizons Alan. Very distinctive tone.

  • Yea, if something lacks voltage, it’s usually a break in the chain? They use such brittle wire in boxes?

  • "Thanks UJ", Yep!, I agree it's high on the list of, "My Favourite Looking Builds List" :-)

  • "Thanks for the kind comments Poorness, and again thank you for giving me the inspiration to do this Build, even though it may sound a bit boring and monotonous, if nothing else, I just love the look of the thing. :-)

  • "Thanks A.D.", Yep!, I have played around with plucking different strings in different patterns, but the way I played it on this Video, is the only way the "Indian Tanpura Guru's" seem to play these things.

    :-D

  • "Thanks BQ", Yep!, purchased the A/B Box pictured back in 2018, paid $30 for it, and have used it on many of my past Videos, but this time it didn't want to work properly, the LD lights haven't worked for some time, so I thought a new battery would fix things, but no didn't do the job, just opened up the back to have a look, and sure enough, the ground wire from the board to the metal body was adrift, a bit fiddly, but managed to reconnect it without taking the stomp buttons off. :-)10971140093?profile=RESIZE_710x
