  • It's just a Russian balalaika, not really Baltic, not really Eastern European. The tuning is kind of "dropped prima" ;-) - usually it is tuned E-E-A.

  •    Yep, Russian, although popular in some other Eastern European countries.  Originated as a Russian 

       version of the Mongol Dombra... thought the tune had a Celtic quality to it, though.

  • When we first saw it, Teddy ripped out a great set of "shady grove".. I had to come back the next day and do a vid...lots of fun when everyone in the store looks around to see what that sound is.

  • From what I have been told, Russian folk instrument.  From the Baltic?
