Some good advice Shane. It doesn't have to be complex (and often isn't) to stir the soul. There's a story about Thelonius Monk playing a show in the 1960s where he played one note and then smashed a vase of flowers into the piano and the show was over. When asked why he did that he said... one note was all he was feeling that day.

Although I’m not a slide player Shane, your lesson is a good reminder of what music is supposed to be about and inspires me to play closer attention to what really moves me musically. It’s too easy for me to focus on quantity instead of quality. Thanks for sharing where your at and where you’re headed.
