I have been doing a workshop on cigar box baritone ukes at a local maker space that is run by a public library. The workshop is free and the library is willing to pay for everything, but I still think I would like to trim costs where I can. I have learned that buying really cheap machines is not worth it. Sam goes for decent quality wood for necks. I was wondering though if strings could be bought in bulk, like maybe on a large reel. I figured that guitar factories might use such a thing.See More

What do you find most interesting about cigar box guitars? (If you do not enter something meaningful here, your membership may be rejected).
I built one for fun, but it is also easy to teach people how to make one and get them interested in music and musical instruments. I volunteer at a Public library run maker-space and do a workshop on Cigar Box Ukes.
