Ron, looks like the LinkedIn gods don't want us to have any fun or legitimize our CBG skills. Your endorsement of my Cigar Box Guitar skill is not showing up. Bunch of uptight "shirts."
We could go on all day with great mineral names. However, I am reminded of Geology 101 that I took in college and a lecture about cave formations. I always had difficulty remembering which hangs down and which builds up from the floor. Stalactites? Stalagmites?
The Prof cleared this up and I've never forgotten.
And the laser mic idea was too direct, I think. I like better taking a mechanical signal, converting it to electrical and then optical, back to electrical and finally mechanical again just so we can hear it. The laser mic would be too efficient going from mechanical to optical to electrical and finally back to mechanical. Still, I'm intrigued about making a hack using a piece of glass on the soundboard and lining it up to a laser mic and speaker. Wonder if it would work at 100 yards? The world may never know.
Oh, and UNICORN is a legit skill? OK, UNICORN is a software package used by protein purification chemists, but still. . . UNICORN? I'm about to list "F-U" as a skill so I can continue my Abby Normal streak.
I like the way you think...BTW, saw your LinkedIn connect. Gotta add a CBG skill button to my Skill set. When I clicked on yours, I got a message saying something like, "This is not considered a normal area of expertise or specialized skill..." Muahahahaha!
Hmmm. Looking over your endorsements and publications, it strikes me that we could modify a piezo output by manipulating light. A fiber optic preamp...

"When the mites go up, the tights come down."

Maybe the skill is... Abby Normal?
