Too true, Frog. Anything can and will. I saw that microwave git last year, and when it came time to replace our refrigerator, I told Mrs. Grandpa that the old one could be a heck of a stand-up bass. She asked where I'd stand to play it, and where the hell would I store it? Well, as usual she was correct, and that was that! If you still have the blade from that mower, you could bolt on a neck, a single coil, and use it as "cutting edge" instrument. Wait a minute....inspiration strikes! Yeah, junk stuff can make a one-off git, for sure! Rarely have had as much fun as buildin' gits.
I have the back guard off of an old lawn mower that is going to be a new guitar. This addiction is crazy. Anything can, and will, become a guitar someday. That's why i couldn't leave them there.
Just ask bigmdgiv, he saw the potential, now he gets to make it a reality.
Nice catch, BF. I reckon that many, if not most members herein are always looking around for discarded "building materials". Just the other day, Mrs. Grandpa's waffle iron ate it, and a new one was ordered. I gutted the old thing, cleaned off the remnants of batter and grease, and now have a set of chrome "clamshells" waiting to be recycled into a metal-bodied git. I wonder if the removable cast metal griddles can be cut down into resonators? We'll see. So much broken stuff, so many opportunities!
