Cigar Box Nation News - Featured Instrument + Lots of Cool Stuff

Featured Instrument: The Goat Skull Guitar by Tate Chmielewski of Louisville, KY

Tate has built several of these freakish creations and recently posted a pic of his newest Goat Skull Guitar.  We chose this earlier pic from 2012 as the Featured Instrument because it had the best angle to see the skull and neck together.  Johnny Lowebow once sang a song called "I Got the Goat In Me."  This seems to be the next logical progression!

Also in the news...
Cigar Box Nation member, Miku recently hosted a Cigar Box Guitar Building Class in Cracow, Poland.

We think this just goes to show the true international appeal of the cigar box guitar.  The instrument is at a Renaissance right now and Miku is just one of many people pushing it forward.  See all of Miku's pictures here and check out his Cigar Box Nation profile here.

If you haven't checked out Cigar Box Nation in a while, you're missing some great action.  Check out these groups:
Piezos From Outer Space - The simple Piezo Disc pickup is one of the most underrated sound devices.  Sure, they work great as internal pickups for our cigar box guitars, but have you ever considered
other possibilities?
Cigar Box Ukuleles - Does your cigar box guitar have fleeeeeas?
CBG Tabs - So you built your CBG and now you need something to play on it, right? Well, if you're not completely musically inclined or can't read traditional music, tabs are your answer. If you're like these guys, you read tabs and sometimes make them.
Special Tools - What are your most essential tools for making cigar box guitars?  Are they store bought or perhaps handmade.  Join the discussion.
Cigar Box Nation is sponsored by C. B. Gitty, your cigar box guitar parts superstore.

Do you build more than one guitar at a time?
Are you planning on building several instruments for the holidays?
Buy your parts in bulk and save money!
C. B. Gitty has many bulk options for cigar box guitar parts including piezo pickups, guitar jacks, strings, fretwire and tuners.  We also have free shipping in the US for most orders over $100.

https://jerusalemmules.bandcamp.com/album/the-jerusalem-mule-plays-... Since you are looking at news here a link to some new free cbg music. Also played with suitcase drum. Really a good bit of information in the above newsletter. I love the goat head guitar and plan to spend the evening with the York fest video. Overall this is like fine sipping whiskey  best if savored.
