My First CBG album!! Give It A Listen.

https://urbanbill.bandcamp.com/album/stubborn-as-a-mule

Four months in the works. It's done! My first cigar box guitar exclusive album. There were two 3 string CBGs I used in the recording. There were many cheap beers, cheap harmonicas, half broken microphones, and a 32 year old saxophone that gave it's last breath making this happen.

It may be out of tune, out of time, and out of control. All of this is true, but it is above and beyond the best ( and I mean the BEST) thing I've ever done. For all its faults (and there are many), I am proud (in every way, shape, and form) of how this came out.

  • Thanks to everyone that has listened to, and (or), purchased this.  It means a lot to me.

As for my playing style, It's something I put together.  Piece by piece.  That's the beauty of the 3 string CBG.

Maybe I could do a few video lessons of the Urban Bill 3 string technique if anyone is interested...

  • I listened to a couple songs, pretty good stuff and great lyrics. I'll buy the album as soon as I can get this hand crank PC to download it, some glitch in my web browser keeps hanging up.

I'm with Roger Morin though, one chord is about all I can handle right now. I can't seem to get this barr chord open tuning thing down with a slide or my fingers. I keep ending up trying to play Carter style and reach for strings that aren't there.

  • 306293514?profile=RESIZE_480x480Thanks everyone.

It was a fairly basic setup.  These two babies and a small solid state amp.

  • Thanks for the kind words.

I used two CBGs.  One tuned G-D-g, the other tuned A-A-e.

  • This is just GREAT!! I really enjoyed your sound. Very original. http://jerusalemmules.bandcamp.com/album/ax-murder-hollow-bury-me-b... here is a link to my alt country duo ax murder hollow. Not really the same kind of thing but hopefully you will find it fun. You have a ton of talent.

  • What strings and tuning did you use as I have one i'm working on right now.

  • I think it's great. Had me tapping my toe. Love the one chord songs at least I could do some thing like that.
