Maybe you could use a drill press (Not running!) with the fret pressing chisel.?    

Pillar or bench drills will be in most workshops.

Thank bam. I am on a little break from building and blogging but I am looking for a small space to set up a better shop at which time I will continue with some full builds and descriptive blog posts. Mile G

Really liking the blog mike! I have some of the same tools and am going to try some of your techniques. Thanks for posting this. Post some more when you have time. I am really interested in seeing how you attach the box with the threaded rod.

yeah It took me about  a day. not too bad. simple simple. man let me tell you. It makes life a whole lot easier.
