Gittybucker

So I bought a few Gittybuckers a while back and am wondering the best way to mount them (on the guitar that is).

I was also considering putting a strip of Velcro on it then one from the neck to the bridge so I could experiment with placing it in different possitions.  Since it is magnetic, maybe even a strip of metal it could attach to.

Any thoughts on this?

  • Get the covers for them, it gives you a way to mount them and it protects the coils.

I've already seen one damaged from over zealous picking. ;)

  • Velcro would add to its height, making it closer to the strings? When it comes to pickups, they should be firmly fastened down to avoid them moving or feeding back too easily. you can screw them down with a wood ring or cut out the lid so they sit flush, some even  put them under the lid, they’re calling this ghosting because you can’t see the pickup?

  • I would be leaning against the metal / magnet plan , as  any metallic mass would effect the pickup sound , (usually in a negative way ) not to mention  most likely  creating a piezoish  effect.  velcro sounds good .  or if you can find some clear reusable tac . (like that blue  putty they used to  have . much better stuff now , and  you can reposition it .

if ya wanna go the temp switch a roo plan that is .
