you are  in  the   USA , so  .   i  would   suggest    Dan  sleeps  thinbucker  . (an approved  US.  supplier  and maker  of the  original  flatpup. ) 

they are  very  thin  , and  can  be  mounted  ontop   of the  box  .  here's an  example  of one  with  a  textured  surface  .   he  has   other  styles  ,

or  ... you  can also   reinforce  the  neck  by  adding a piece  of  wood  under  the  neck  if you  have  room  in  the  box  etc  .
