Burrstone Riverbow # 001

Built from river-washed oak (hence the name). "Zebra-Streaked" diddley bow sticks are also in the making. Logs are collected by my wife and stored beneath a huge conifer in the garden ( wind dried and rainproof) - next lot should be ready by the summer.

25" scale, strung with broom wire between a bass machine head and a retractable coach screw at the bridge end. JD miniature for the bridge. Played through a Vox busking amp, the piezo pickup taped directly to the bridge gives a sound I have never heard the like of before, especially beyond the 12th fret.

To give an idea of scale, also pictured is my "Jamaica Baby" CBG built by David Hill (#157), a joy to play.
