  • I am still using 3D printed frets and bridges.

I have been figuring out the intonation and incorporating it into the bridge design so that it doesn’t need to be angled. I typically have a target height and just print a new one if it has to go up or down.

I still print individual frets, but no nail brad ones because I have had trouble with them buzzing, tough to isolate, and I don’t want to mess with gluing them all. I have been printing a thin 2-piece fretboard with all the frets. In either case I use double stick tape to secure them. It has worked well.

I also use 3D printed string guides and tailpieces.  The 3D printer is a very useful tool in my builds and simplifies the building process for me.

I’ll be gland to answer any questions you have.

  • I get many of my ideas here and many of my current builds have been heavily influenced by builders in Sacramento via our weekly Sunday afternoon Zoom meetings. You are welcome to join us. Will King leads the group and is a member here at CBN, so you can contact him to get on the email list.
