I find the creativity and artistry builders incorporate into their instruments the most interesting aspect of CBGs. Each instrument is an expression of the builder's unique imagination and a piece of art in their own right. I also find the history of homemade instruments fascinating. When I discovered CBGs and told an uncle I was making them he remembered using basic materials (baling wire, odd pieces of wood/sticks, etc.), to make instruments as a kid. It was a great conversation I'll always remember. On a personal note, I find it very satisfying to be able to create one of a kind FUNCTIONAL instruments from a simple box and some basic materials. I just need to find more room to display them!
