Padron 4000 box - first build questions

Howdy!

 

All input is appreciated.

 

The top and the bottom are exactly the same width and length. The box uses an inner liner (four thin pieces of wood against each side which are the depth of the box).

 

Do I glue these strips in, or pull them out?

Brass Pop Rivets?

Looking for brass rivets, but can't find them? 

 

Instead... Go to the araea to get parts for your ice maker (Prumbling section)" and look for "Brass Insert and Delrin Sleeve (1/4" OD w/insert)."

 

About $1.65 for a packet of two.
