I love being able to make any instrument i put my mind to making and sharing it with others. I made a modified cigar box guitar based off the Seagull Merlin (before i knew of canjos) when i was a sophomore in college (it was not a good instrument, it had a 1/2 inch action!) I made a canjo as soon as i learned about them using strings and fret wire i purchased from CBGitty crafters supply (i keep this one at my place of work and i dampen the Campbell's soup can resonator with a piece of cloth to keep my co-workers from killing me). I made a two string canjo for my father when he turned 60, and one for myself for home of course. For those last 2 i used large crushed tomato cans and 2 strings tuned to the same note to get a cool drone effect.
