Bridge support

Is there any support under the bridge on a box build. It seems that the tension on the strings would bow the top of the box. However adding a support under the bridge will dampen the sound. Thank's old dan

New guy here I build shaker boxes and was wondering if there is anyone else using them fora build. The issue as I see it would be to attach the stick to the box and still maintain the resonance Never made one befor so any ideas will be appreciated. T
