  • Another tip my dad taught me years ago...put a little soap from a bar of soap on the threads of your screws before inserting them. They will go in easily without binding and the chance of stripping the slots or breaking off the screwhead on small screws such as those on tuning machines is greatly reduced. They come out easier also, and the holding power is not affected at all...
  • A simple glue holder...drill a few 1/2 inch or smaller holes (these were tuning machine bushing size) and use them to full up with glue, or whatever in a piece of scrap wood. When dry and done using up the holes, flip it over and drill more, or throw it away. It's not as messy as every other thing I've tried to hold small amounts of glue or wood filler.
